Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels have been around for centuries. It is believed even Cleopatra used them when she bathed in sour goat’s milk—though she probably didn’t realize the lactic acid was giving her skin a rejuvenating peel.  Chemical peeling is used to improve the skin’s appearance by applying a chemical solution to the skin, causing the top layers to separate and peel off. The new skin is smoother, less wrinkled, and maybe more even in color.

  • Obagi Blue Peel – This is a trichloroacetic acid peel used to rejuvenate the skin.   This peel can be used under the face to include around the eyes and neck.
  • Beta-Lift Peel – Developed by the inventor of Retin-A, Beta-Lift peels are as effective as 70% glycolic-acid peels without risk of redness or flaking skin.  No recovery time is involved.  Skin glows with a more youthful appearance.  Regular Beta-Lift peels are an excellent means of preserving the facial skin and preventing the need for more invasive procedures.  Beta-Lift is a salicylic acid based peel that lifts unwanted dead, dull cells off the surface of your skin and stimulates a “burst of renewal” promoting healthy, young, living cells to migrate to the surface. The treatment penetrates hair follicles making Beta-Lift peels well-suited for treatment of Acne, Acne Rosacea and enlarged pores.
  • Vitalize Peel – A blend of acids which provide you a safe, reliable deep exfoliation with little down time.  You will see improvement in skin tone, texture and possibly a decrease in pore size with repeated treatments.  Vitalize peels are useful for treatment of sun-damaged and acne-scarred skin.
